The Danish Meat Research Institute (DMRI) is a research organization in Denmark that conducts studies on meat processing and related technologies. It is part of the Danish Technological Institute and carries out research in areas related to meat production, including slaughter methods, animal transport, processing techniques, refrigeration, hygiene, meat science, and environmental impact.

The institute was established in 1954 by Mogens Juul, who served as its first Director. Research work later continued with the involvement of Wismer-Pedersen, a researcher from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University. Between the 1960s and 2000, the institute took part in developing processing technologies for the meat industry. During this period, product development was GeneRally undertaken by individual slaughterhouses.
