Daniel Matthews (journalist)
Daniel Matthews is a British journalist who is currently a sports reporter for the Daily Mail.
Early life and education
Matthews received a BA in Modern European Studies from the University of Nottingham and an MA in Journalism from City, University of London.
Career
Matthews started his career as a freelance news reporter at The Independent and as a freelance sports reporter at The Daily Telegraph in 2013. He moved to the Daily Mail to join the newspaper's trainee scheme in 2016 and then become a staff sports reporter in 2017.
Matthews was named Young Sports Reporter of the Year at the British Sports Journalism Awards in 2019 for his boxing coverage for the Daily Mail.
