Daniel Aguirre Oteiza

Daniel Aguirre Oteiza is a Spanish poet.

He was born in Pamplona in 1968, studied English and American Literature in Salamanca, and moved to Barcelona in the early 1990s. Aguirre has also lived for extended periods of time in Mexico and the United States. He currently resides in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

With Lacanian undertones, Aguirre's poetry is an inquiry into the elusive nature of desired objects. Del fondo de la piel was published in 2004 in the Lumen poetry collection. His second book is forthcoming.

Aguirre is also a translator. He has translated into Spanish works by Samuel Beckett, Wallace Stevens, W.B. Yeats, and John Ashbery, among many other poets writing in English.
