Custom Sensors & Technologies (CST) was founded in 2006 by the Schneider Electric Group and is located in Moorpark, California, USA.

History

2006: birth of Custom Sensors and Technologies.

Custom Sensors & Technologies (CST) was founded in 2006 by Schneider Electric to gather Crouzet, Kavlico, Crydom and BEI Technologies, the brands acquired by the group. C. L. Treadway was appointed President and CEO.

2006-2014: consolidation of Custom Sensors and Technologies

In July 2009, Eric Pilaud, member of Schneider Electric Executive Committee, was appointed President and CEO.

Since 2014: Independence Years.

In 2014, Schneider Electric separated from its Control activity and ceded Custom Sensors & Technologies (CST). All brands belonging to CST under the Schneider era still belong to CST : BEI Sensors, BEI Kimco, Crouzet Aerospace, Crouzet Automation, Crouzet Control, Crouzet Motors, Crouzet Solid state Relays, Crouzet Switches, Kavlico Pressure, Kavlico Position and Force, Newall, Systron Donner and Crydom.

Aerospace and defense with components used in helicopters, aircrafts, defense devices, space, business jets.
Transportation with applications from automotive to agricultural equipment or trains, and civil marine.
Industry where automating machinery is everywhere: packaging equipment, access control, industrial valves and pumps, HVAC and refrigeration.
Energy and infrastructure to produce energy (wind turbine or solar equipment), to distribute it and to clean it (water and wast treatment, renewable energies).
Medical devices used in imagery, specific equipment( dental, clinic, laboratory), dialysis and blood treatment, life support equipment.

Products

Sensors convert a physical variable into an electronic signal

Sensors can be used for position sensing, pressure measurement, signal control, sensing and electrical protection. They include microswitches, encoders.

Control process inputs and instruct systems

Time, temperature, lighting, heating, power need to be controlled for air conditioning, machine automation, safety controls, Timers, counters, logic controllers (PLC), monitoring and safety relays are all part of these control components.

Either used for control and/or regulation, actuators are used in transportation, medical devices, industry and energy and infrastructure equipment. Among them Voice Coil actuators, linear actuators, motors.
