Csaba Borboly

Csaba Borboly (born 8 August 1974) is a Romanian politician of Hungarian ethnicity. Between 2004 and 2008 he was vice president of the Harghita County Council. Since 2008, he is the council's president.

Background and early life

Borboly was born in Gheorgheni and grew up in Valea Strâmbă and Ciumani.

Studies

In 1992 he graduated from Márton Áron High School of Miercurea Ciuc, from Information Technology Class and attended between 1992–1993 the political management class of the Political School Századvég, at Budapest. Then, between 1993–1999 he studied at ELTE Faculty of Juridical Studies at Budapest and took a degree in political sciences. From 2001 Csaba Borboly is the member of Association of Political Sciences of Hungary and between 2002–2003 he obtained a research scholarship from Regional Center of Hungarian Scientific Academy and "Új Kézfogás" Foundation.

Political career

In 1994 he became a member of the Council of the Territorial Representatives of DAHR, Ciuc Territorial Organization, from 2007 he is the president of Council of the Territorial Representatives of DAHR. Between 1999–2004 he occupies the function of president in the Council of the Hungarian Youth Association. In the period of 2000–2004 Csaba Borboly is county councilor, between 2004 and 2008 works as the vice-president of the institution and from 2008 he occupies the function od the president of Harghita County Council. From 2003 he is the member of the executive board in the Public Service of Social Assistance of Harghita County. From 2008 he becomes the president of National Council of the Elected Leaders of DAHR. From 2011 Csaba Borboly is member of the Presidency of DAHR (Democratic Alliance of Hungarians of Romania)-Council of the Elected Leaders from Seklerland.

From 2012 to present days he also occupies the function of Committee of Region delegation member.
