Creston Valley Chargers

The Creston Valley Chargers are a Canadian football team based in Creston, British Columbia.

They play in a nine-man football league consisting of teams from the communities of Nelson, Castlegar, and Kaslo.

The team is of major importance to the small community of Creston. It has been said that the team's 2 championships in it's first 2 years have made the townsfolk proud again. This proves to be true with the club drawing 1000 to 1500 fans per game in a town of only 5000 people. The team has been a major tourist attraction for out of towners where passers by often stop to buy Creston's delicious fruit and enjoy a football game of today's future Canadian football stars.

History

The team was founded by local gold miner Mike Leyte in 2006. The team got off to a rough start in it's inaugural season, but stormed back to win all it's playoff games and take home the championship.
