Craig Jones (Friday)
Craig Jones is a fictional character from all three of the Friday movies, in which he is the main protagonist. He is created and portrayed by Ice Cube, who is also the screenwriter and producer of the series. Craig and his father William "Willie" Jones (John Witherspoon) are the only characters that have appeared in all three films.
Events of the films
Friday
Before the series began, he had a job but got fired the day before the beginning of the film because he got caught "stealing boxes." Ironically, it was his day off. He also has a girlfriend, a hood rat who constantly talks to him over the phone. He is a laid-back kind of guy, and all he wants to do is live life before something happens to him. He sometimes has arguments with his sister Dana, who is more ambitious than he. He and Smokey try to beat the neighborhood "pest" Lil' Chris, and upon catching him, throttle him with their belts. He has also made a name for himself when he knocked out the neighborhood bully Deebo. At the end of the day, his girlfriend calls him concerning how she put up with Craig's mess, leading to an immediate break-up, much to Craig's delight.
Next Friday
Things change after that day. Smokey was in rehab, Stanley left the neighborhood, and Deebo broke out of prison a week later, causing him to leave as well to his [...]-crazed uncle's house, where he gets himself into more (mis)adventures along with his cousin Day-Day (Mike Epps) when they receive a certified notice that his uncle's house will be auctioned by the next day as a result of not paying his bills. Craig is right when he says that "things ain't like in the hood." While visiting his cousin at his job at Pinky's Record, Craig gets in a fight with the store owner, Pinky, resulting in Day-Day and his co-worker getting fired.
Friday After Next
A week later, Craig and Day-Day were robbed by a fake Santa Claus and got jobs as security guards. They deal with Damon, Money Mike, a gang of religious mothers, and a burglar dressed up as Santa Claus later and get their stuff back. In the end Craig gets another girlfriend.
He has a dad who works as a dog catcher (but "Friday After Next" was working at a restaurant) and a mom who loves him, but who also likes to get him into trouble. He also has a "rich" uncle in Rancho Cucamonga, as well as a cousin (Day-Day) who lands on the "list" of people who will likely get shot. But Craig lives each day as any other day (except perhaps Friday).
