Cory McFarlane

Cory McFarlane (born April 17, 1980) is an American actor and American businessman. He is also the founder of Cory McFarlane, Inc, a custom homebuilding company. He is quickly earning a reputation for intensive character study work for films such as Underground President and Warrior Blood.

Early life

Cory McFarlane was born in Brooklyn, New York. His mother Barbara was a small business owner born in Kingston, Jamaica. His father Prince McFarlane was not in his life. As a child who grew up with his mother and grandmother in Brooklyn before Moving to Miami, Florida. Cory found joy in acting, starring in many school plays before putting his acting career on hold after being kicked out of a drama magnet school. After graduating high school at North Miami Senior High School at age 19 McFarlane taught himself how to build and configure computer systems and opened his first business Unlimited Enterprise to build and service computers. After leaving the computer industry after the internet collapse McFarlane attended college at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. During his Junior year he found Aspirant Development, a full service home building company.

Luxury homebuilding career

Cory McFarlane Homes (formally Aspirant Homes) was founded in 2003 in Tallahassee, Florida . McFarlane developed a solid reputation for creating elegant, superbly-crafted custom single-family and estate residences. Since that time, the company has expanded and is planning to open new divisions Panama City, Florida and Destin, Florida. He was elected to serve as the 2009 Tresurer of the Tallahassee Builders Association and serves as on the National Association of Home Builders Board of Directors. In 2007, McFarlane was named the “Economic Development Champion of the Year” by the City of Tallahassee Minority Enterprise Development committee. In November 2008 McFarlane was awarded the first ever Sage Software award for Best Use of Multiple Technology for his home building operation.

Acting career

McFarlane scored his first leading role in the urban drama Underground President playing the role of Sluggs. The film won the audience choice award at the 2007 Buffalo, Niagara film festival and was shown at the Palm Beach film festival. He was also tapped to play the role of Lump in the upcoming mixed-martial arts movie Warrior Blood.
