Corridor-shooter

A corridor-shooter is a shooter in which the player follows a specific, set path (often a corridor or otherwise narrow area) developed by the programmers of the game. The player is sometimes limited in his or her own decisions on where to go. Corridor games are often only "corridor"-like in singleplayer mode.

Some examples of corridor-shooters include:

  • Half-Life
  • Half-Life 2
  • Doom 3
  • F.E.A.R.
  • Prey
  • Return to Castle Wolfenstein
  • Call of Duty
  • HaLo: Combat Evolved
  • Halo 2

The complete opposite of this would be games with strategy like:

  • Brothers in Arms series
  • Call of Duty 2
