Coro amadeo

Coro Amadeo is a group consisting of a mix of high school and college students, and young professionals. They are mostly citizens from Cainta, Rizal with a few coming from Taytay, Pasig and Quezon City. The group was formed in May 2010. They started as a church choir in the Our Lady of Light Parish in Cainta Rizal, and wish to bring back to the parishioners their musicality, they decided to use the name "Amadeo" which is derived from the Latin name Amadeus meaning "lover of God" or "loves God".

Music, Friendship, Service to God

The group believes that the most important factor in everything they do is maintaining their church service. Their motto "Music, Friendship, Service to God" centralizes on that, as the music and the friendship would come naturally, or would be a given factor in their relationship as a group.

The group also strives to give back to the community in any way that they can. Aside from their church service, they also volunteered to give out relief goods to those people in their hometown that were ravaged by the Typhoon Habagat in August 2012.

In December 27, 2011, the group also performed in "Well Wishes at the Glorietta Activity Center, a benefit concert for the victims of Typhoon Sendong.

Competitions and Awards

Coro Amadeo made their debut as a group when they joined Talentadong Cainteno and emerged the Grand Champion. They won 1st runner up in a competition in Makati called “Vianneyhan” on September 4, 2010 and have already performed in different events such as bazaars and in the Our Lady of Light Parish Marian Concert.

Coro Amadeo also showcased their musicality in a concert called Narito Ako on September 25, 2010. In November 2010 they were asked to perform for the product launching of Mister Donut’s Pabuenos.

The Christmas season is a busy time for the group. They became a finalist for the Paskong Himig sa Pasig 2010, and also participated in the annual Merry Novo held at the Christ the King Parish.

In 2011 the group celebrated its 1st year anniversary through a free concert, Kasama Ka, to give thanks to all the people who supported them in their first year as a group. They also became grand champion in the Wir Feiern IV, Mga Kantahing Pilipino Octet Singing Competition, with their conductor winning the Best Arrangement for the contest piece 'Ang Bango ng Pasko'. This was held in Paco Catholic School on November 26, 2011.

Coro Amadeo became a semi-finalist in MBC's National Chorale Competition held December 7, 2011 at the Star Theater in Pasay. They performed an original rendition of the song Rap Das Armas snd Ave Maria, both arranged by their conductor Jay-el Viteño, and a uniquely choreographed Kampana ng Simbahan, arranged by resident judge, Arnel de Pano.

In 2012 Coro Amadeo participated in the Musica FEUropa competition held May 1 and 2, 2012 in the historic FEU Auditorium.

On July 21, 2012, the group participated again in St. John Mary Vianney Choral Competition held in Brgy. Cembo, Makati City and won the 4th runner up spot. On August 12, 2012, the group was named grand champion in the Kay Gleeing Chorale Competition sponsored by the Festival Supermall in Alabang. I On October 6-7, 2012, the Manila Broadcasting Company gave chances for choirs in Mega Manila as they officially opened the annual National Choral Competition auditions held at the Aliw Theater in Pasay City. Coro Amadeo made it to the 1st day of the semi-final round on December 3, 2012.

Founded on 2 May 2010, the group is serving at the 8:00 PM Eucharistic Celebration every 2nd-4th (and 5th) Sunday in Our Lady of Light Parish, Cainta, Rizal.

Coro Amadeo is headed by Novo Concertante Manila member, Jay-el B. Viteno.

Recent Performances

Coro Amadeo was invited to welcome the "BER" months in TV5's Good Morning Club on September 3, 2012. They performed four Christmas songs: Kampana ng Simbahan, Munting Sanggol, Feliz Navidad, and Joy to the World.

Kampana ng Simbahan was the contest piece for the MBC National Chorale Competition in December 2011.
