Computer Lab Solutions

Computer Lab Solutions is a privately held Software company based in Farmington, Utah with offices in Idaho Falls, ID. Computer Lab Solutions develops software that measures real-time statistics on computer lab utilization, application usage, and energy consumption. This information is most utilized by organizations with large invetories of computer stations such as large corporations, libraries, and universities/schools.

Incorporated in 2004, Computer Lab Solutions was founded by a computer lab manager who created LabStats, now one of their core products. LabStats tracks and logs computer usage and generates reports for entire labs and/or individual machines. Real-time usage reports can be viewed in a web browser and multiple labs can maintained at the same time.

Products

Computer Lab Solutions develops the LabStats Suite which contains four add-on utilities:

  1. LabStats tracks computer usage in computer lab environments and stores the data in a lightweight database. LabStats uses a client and server arrangement. Each computer is installed with the LabStats client, each of which report usage information to the LabStats server, which then stores the data in a database. LabStats is compatible with Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux operating systems, and will work with multiple authentication systems including Novell and ACTIVE Directory.
  2. AppUse works as part of the LabStats suite to track the number of times any application was launched and the length of time an application was running on a computer in a computer lab environment.
  3. LabMaps a plug-in that allows computer lab managers to create an online map of their computer labs. The map will display the real-time availability of every computer in each lab.
  4. JuicePress a software PC power management utility that allows computer lab administrators to establish detailed power schedules for labs and for individual computers. JuicePress focuses on green computing efforts to help reduce power consumption of computer labs and is a member of the Green Computing Impact Organization. JuicePress is compatible with Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux operating systems.
