Commonly known dark-side (force) powers

There are several force-powers (affects of the universal force on physical beings) in the Star Wars pantheon that are potrayed in the movies, books, comics and games. While it is stressed (particularly in the games) that the powers themselves are not inherently evil, but rather reflects the lineage of the force-user (jedi/sith), these powers are often labelled under "evil" due to their common usage or because of the people who use them. For instance the force pull is commonly considered a neutral power despite being used by Darth Vader in "Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back".

Some dark-side can be used for good. They become evil only when used for personal gain.

Force Grip

Believed to be an enhanced combination of two neutral force-powers (force pull and force push) the force grip (as shown by Darth Vader in "Episode IV - A New Hope") can be used to strangle a person from a distance. Force grip can also be used to lift a person off the ground or even quite simply break the person's neck (though death by strangulation seems to give sith in particularly more satisfaction as potrayed by Darth Vader in "Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back").

Force Drain

More commonly used in Star Wars games. This force-power allows the user to drain the life-energy and/or force-energy of another person. The force drain, though devious is considered less useful than the light-side healing power.

Force Lightning

Potrayed originally by Palpatine (a.k.a. the Emperor) in "Episode VI - Return of the Jedi" force lightning is a purely energy-based attack. Force energy takes the form of lightning bolts which exit the force-user's body through his hands. Force lightning can be executed with either a single or both hands. This force-power is usually used as a form of torture as it not only causes severe physical damage but also extreme agony to the victim. However, a single powerful blast May Be sufficient to kill a person instantly. It is unclear why in the film Palpatine kept electrocuting Luke for so long. Either Palpatine was really enjoying Luke's torture or his force lightning was not as powerful as that of some other siths.

Force Destruction Orb

Used by the dark-jedi Boc and Jered in the game "Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight" the force destruction orb is another energy based attack in which a powerful blast of energy is fired. Even if it doesn't kill the victim it will still cause severe physical damage.
