College Connect

College Connect is a for-profit education consultancy based out of New Delhi, India that assists students in pursuing admission to colleges. Founded in 2008, the company specializes in admissions to the United States for undergraduates and business school applicants. Founded by Umang Dua who graduated from Amherst College and Oxford University, and Kunal Pal who graduated from Franklin and Marshall College, College Connect focuses on application services such as college section, essay editing and interview preparation.

Model

Unlike most education consultancy services in India, College Connect adopts a different approach to college admissions with no tie-ups with foreign institutes or standardized test preparation. Students usually work with coaches on brainstorming stories, picking colleges, working on admission essays, and filling forms such as the Common Application. Guidance is provided either online or in person from the New Delhi office.

Ethics

In the United States, educational consultants are not bound by any particular statutory rules for practitioners. Those who belong to a professional association such as College Connect are pledged not to accept remuneration from any institution when school or college admissions are involved, to ensure that clients receive objective, as well as impartial, counsel.
