Coins.ph is a Bitcoin exchange company headquartered in Metro Manila, Philippines. It was founded in 2013 by Silicon Valley entrepreneurs, Ron Hose and Runar Petursson. The company accepts Bitcoin payments online, from anyone including those who do not have access to credit cards or bank accounts. The website enables all Filipinos (including 95 million unbanked individuals) to buy and sell Bitcoins.

History

coins.ph was founded by Ron Hose and Runar Petursson in 2013. Ron Hose was working in Philippines, running an outsourcing company in 2001 and noticed how the country was suffering due to there lack of banking interests. Considering the low credit card penetration, and to provide an online payment option to consumers in Philippines, Ron Hose co-founded coins.ph with Runar Peturson to help increase e-commerce transactions in the Philippines and nearby Southeast Asian countries.

Partnership

In 2014, coins.ph partnered with MetroDeal and CashCashPinoy which are two companies based in the Philippines.This partnership allows 95 million people who do not have Credit cards, to purchase goods online.

Products

Coins.ph is a Bitcoin Wallet that allows customers to directly buy and sell bitcoin in Philippine peso; provides low-cost remittance platform that Overseas Filipino can use to send money to the Philippines., and a prepaid loading facility for people to load their Smart, Globe and Sun Cellular mobile phone.
