Coats of arms of U.S. Field Artillery Regiments
Coats of arms of US Field Artillery Regiments are heraldic emblems associated with field artillery regiments in the US Army. By Army regulation, all regiments of the US Army organized under a Table of Organization and Equipment are authorized a Coat of Arms to be displayed on the organization's standard, called the "colors." This coat of arms also forms the basis for the unit's "Distinctive Unit Insignia", the emblem worn by all members of the unit on their service uniforms.
The coats of arms for artillery units normally incorporate the color red, which has been the traditional color of The Artillery Branch in the US Army since the formation of the Corps of Artillery in 1777. Below are galleries of the heraldic emblems of US Army Field Artillery units. Clicking on the image of the coat of arms will display the blazon and symbolism, as well as a larger rendition of the arms. (only 1-8 complete) __NOTOC__
