Clawing My Way to the Middle
Clawing My Way to the Middle is the upcoming first solo album by singer-songwriter and former SR-71 frontman Mitch Allan. It is slated for release sometimes in 2010, after many delays. SR-71 members has contributed to the recording of the album.
Mitch Allan started working on the album in the spring of 2006 in both Los Angeles and Baltimore with producer/guitarist Ben Moody. Allan then announced the album will be released in late 2007, but it was in fact delayed, and pushed back few times in 2008 and 2009, and now release date is unknown although it is speculated it will be released sometime in 2010.
The first single from the album was "Makes Me High", which was released with a music video on Allan's official Myspace page in January 2008. "Makes Me High" was actually a softer and more relaxed remake of an old SR-71 song called "My World", from the 2002 album Tomorrow. Allan then announced that the SR-71 song "Mosquito" from their 2004 album Here We Go Again will also be re-recorded for his album. Allan also released on his Myspace a new song, a piano ballad entitled "Superman", which was also played live on his solo shows, and will also be included in the album.
It was also rumored that SR-71's cover of Peter Gabriel's classic song "In Your Eyes" which was recorded for their 2004 album Here We Go Again, would be re-recorded for this album. It was also rumored that Kara DioGuardi, Chris Daughtry, Marty Casey, Bo Bice, Faith Hill and Adam Lambert, are among the guests to appear on the album.
