Class Clown (card game)

Class Clown is a card game much like War for two or more players, using a standard Western fifty-two-playing card deck.

How to play

Each player is given 5 cards and places them in a stack. Much like War, the players each place down one card at the same time. The player with the higher card takes both cards and adds them to the end of their stack. If a Jack and another face playing card (other than a Jack) is placed at the same time, the player who played the Jack splits their cards evenly among the players. This is called Detention. If the cards are tied, each player is given three cards from the pile. The players then choose one card from the three they are given and flip it at the same time. The higher card takes the tied cards, flipped cards, and faced down cards.

Strategy

Class Clown is a game of chance, so no strategy is needed.

Variants

In one variant of Class Clown, an Ace can cause detention for the Jack. This version is known as Troublemaker.
