Clan Bruce (Ghana)
The Gold Coast Bruce clan are the Ghanaian branch of the Bruce clans and are descendants of Robert Bruce and Lankai of Asere a Ga women. Together they had a son called William Wallace Bruce who was known in the Ga language as Nii Nanka. Nii Nanka had ten children and from those ten came a branch who appended their family name to Nanka-Bruce. The Nanka-Bruces alongside the other branches of Nii Nanka's descendants are the biological descendants of Robert Bruce. Robert Bruce adopted two boys from Popo and from those two came another branch of the Bruce clan. The Bruce clan has a stool and their family house is in Jamestown, Ghana. The Bruces are related to other mulatto clans such as the Bannermans, Reindorfs, and also some of the Brazilian returnees to Ghana such as the Nelsons.
