Citystay Hotels

Citystay Hotels (1)1 is a New York City based 'lifestyle' hotel brand that was created to serve the changing state of the hotel industry, and is expected to make it's entrance onto the domestic and international market in 2008, after three years of careful planning and design.

November 2005 - The Brand Launches

The Company was formed in 2005 by Gregory Tubeck, who was just 24 years old when he decided that his generation of travelers (primarily Generation X and Y) were not getting the attention they deserved in a hotel product. Citystay Hotels set out to revolutionize a stale and overpriced industry with a new brand that reflects the image and desires of Generation X and Y (the current group of travelers 18-39) who as a group are expected to account for over 349 million nights annually in hotel rooms. 2 By combining the best in modern design, technology and a low-cost structure, Citystay believes it will have the ability to rapidly expand into a nationally leading hotel brand, competing with new brands such as Aloft by Starwood and NYLO Hotels. Price Waterhouse Coopers Recognizes Citystay Hotels

In 2006, industry watchdog Price Waterhouse Coopers released a report showing Citystay Hotels as one of twenty four (24) new brands released in the industry, proving that consumer demand for a new hotel product is surging. “Accelerating demand, the increasing representation and influence of Gen-Xers and Millennials, globalization and the trend for major brands to offer a range of service and price levels -- all occurring at the same time that supply growth is accelerating -- is resulting in a record number of brand introductions,” explains Bjorn Hanson, Ph.D., and principal in PricewaterhouseCoopers' Hospitality & Leisure practice. Design and Technology Key To Citystay

Citystay Hotels has shaken up the image of what a hotel looks, feels and functions like by integrating new design and technology processes into the guest experience. The Company has dipped itself into the technology development sector by building and planning its own web based property management system (PMI), branded as "Cityscreens". A Cityscreen will be a LCD touch screen monitor that will be embedded in the walls of each Citystay guestroom, and will allow guests to electronically order concierge type products and services with just a few taps on the screen. Because Citystay Hotels has decided to eliminate restaurants in house, (opting only for 'destination' bars and lounges - the Cityscreen system acts as a important alternative to guests who still desire in room food options. The Company has partnered with local vendors in each planned hotel location to provide their electronic ordering of their menus and delivery from within the guest room. (4) 5
