City of Faith Community Corrections Centers -South Central Region "Acceptance Procedures"
This article if for all of the people leaving Blobs regarding questions they have about City of Faith Community Corrections Centers in Louisiana, and How To Get In A Community Corrections Center in Louisiana! Though I no longer am employed by City of Faith Community Corrections Center, I was employed by Mrs. Kathy Biedenharn and Mr. Ricky Banks as their Facility Director and Case Manager, and A.C.A. Accreditation Manager for several years at the City of Faith Shreveport, Louisiana Community Corrections Facility. Prior to the City of Faith employment, I have worked in criminal justice, and other Community Corrections Centers, often referred to as "Half-way-House" and "Work Release Centers" in Louisiana. If you have a family member or a friend that is seeking to go to City of Faith, the normal procedure is for your family member or friend to request to the Corrections Institution they are in, to go through their Case Worker or Warden at the Prison/Jail they are serving their sentence at, to request to the Federal Bureau of Prisons Community Corrections Office, or the Louisiana Department of Corrections to be allowed to serve the final six (6) months or 10% of their sentence at one of the City of Faith's Community Corrections Centers. In other words City of Faith does not solicit inmates and/or Referrals from State or Federal Prisons! Community Corrections Centers in general will receive a Referral from the Federal Bureau of Prisons', Community Corrections Office or the Louisiana Department of Corrections, and will notify the inmate's Case Worker, Warden, or Referring Agency of "Acceptance, or Non-Acceptance". Once you are "Accepted" to a Community Corrections Center", you should, or your Case Worker should receive a "Acceptance Letter and a "Acceptance Package" including a copy of the Center's "Resident Handbook" of Rules & Regulations of the Center. City of Faith houses both State and Federal inmates, to assist in a smooth transition of all inmates back into society, with a goal that they may be able to reenter society without any further contact with the Criminal Justice System. Hence, cutting back on the recidivism rate of the people returning back to prison, while ensuring that all inmates leaving City of Faith have a Job and a Release Residence, and other required or needed aftercare needs in place. During my employment with City of Faith, I have never known of a inmate being rejected when bed availability was not a issue, as a "Resident" of City of Faith, but they must go through their Case Worker or the Warden where they are presently incarcerated. Also, feel free to review the City of Faith Web Site, and be aware of the "2nd Chance Act" signed into law by former President Bush. From my past experience of working with Community Corrections Centers in the South Central Region, City of Faith has the most dedicated and experienced staff members that will use whatever resources within their means to make sure your loved ones get that "Second Chance", and leave City of Faith with all the tools necessary to carry on a self productive crime-free lifestyle upon their release from incarceration.
