Chris Bell (military historian)
Christopher Bell (born 20 April 1968 in Leicester, Leicestershire, England) is an English military historian. Born to Leslie William and Dinah Bell (nee Kenworthy), Bell was raised in the village of Markfield, Leicestershire and attended De Montfort University, where he gained a first class honours degree and an M.A. at New College Oxford before pursuing his career. His published articles include "Whatever happened to John Bull" and "The Social effect of the Pals Battalions". Bell is currently writing historical fiction works, focusing around the 17th Regiments actions in the American Wars of Independance "The Heroes of Princeton" is scheduled to be released in 2008.
Although he rejected a career with the Army, Bell developed strong links with the Royal Leicestershire regiment, generating funds towards the Tigers museum. He is a life member of the Royal Tigers Association and the academic society Gray's Lodge and is a founding member of the Tommy Atkins Society and the Victory Show. Chris has given much devotion to several servicemen's charities, raising the profile and awareness of their sacrifices.
Bell is divorced with two children, Imogen and Warwick.
