Children of The Corn: Boy Preacher list
This is the profile for all of the boy preachers from the Children of the Corn films.
Preacher Proflie
Isaac (John Franklin)
The preacher from the first movie. Isaac Chroner [Citation needed for last name] was a boy-preacher who came to a small town in Nebraska called Gatlin with a mission; to rid it of the adults who inhabit it and make way for the glorious coming of the series' corn god, He Who Walks Behind The Rows. The Original "giver of his word", took over after the children of Gatlin began to see him as a leader figure, following him into the corn and listening to his preaching of He Who Walks Behind The Rows. Eventually, the children completely converted to his way of thinking, and murdered their own parents at his will. He has good points, as well as bad, a contrast that works well in the film. He's loyal to He Who Walks Behind The Rows, and follows his rules. Unfortunately, we see that Isaac seems to get a little too power-hungry at the end, which causes his right hand man Malachai and The Other Children to betray him, sacrificing him to He Who Walks Behind the Rows. In the end, we see him in an undead-like state, walking towards Malachai to exact his revenge as the corn fields blaze.
Little, if nothing, is known as to what happens to Isaac between the first movie and the sixth installment, or even how he survived He Who Walks Behind the Rows apparent decimation (although it is well known that the god never really dies). The Children of the Corn series is notorious for it's many plot holes, as Illustrated in Isaac's role in the sixth installment, the appropriately named Children of the Corn 666:Isaac's Return, where he is seen coming out of a coma, aged well beyond childhood. Still, he serves as the movie's preacher, his goal to pass on his legacy to his apparent firstborn son. He is killed, however, by Gabriel; a boy who claims to be Isaac's true firstborn and He Who Walks Behind the Rows himself. Gabriel is left wounded by the film's protagonist's, saying that "The Seed has been sown", referring to the film's [...] scene. This same plot device of leaving an ambiguous ending due to the passing on of the Children of the Corn cult's 'curse' through it's member's/god's offspring was seen in the previous installment, Children of the Corn V: Fields of Terror, but the concept was never elaborated on in any other installment.
Micah (Ryan Bollman)
The preacher from the second film, Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice, Micah is a slightly different case. While Isaac obeyed He Who Walks Behind The Rows of his own free will, Micah was possessed by the god in the cornfields, Taking over Micah's body destroying the good in him and replacing it with the seed of evil. Sly and careful, Micah was a formidable preacher and more than a match for anyone, briefly talking Danny, the film's boy protagonist, into joining the cult. Danny, however, retaliated and attempted to flee with his love interest Lacey, but to no avail. After a speech AbOUT how there was no escape from He Who Walks Behind the Rows, Micah began to pray to his god, seemingly raising his power as evident of the lightning flowing around him. His supposed powering-up was cut short, as he was killed via a corn cutter in a last, desperate act of heroism by Red Bear, the film's token Native American character. Oddly enough, in his last few moments his face turned into that of a devil, then disintegrated back into his human face. The meaning of this is unknown but was most likely added-in for some special effect value regardless of it's seeming irrelevancy to the plot. He was ment not to be evil before he gets shredded. But it was to late to save him.
Eli (Daniel Cerny)
Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest's preacher, Eli is a strange one to describe. Through he has a connection to He Who Walks Behind The Rows, and serves his will, he's a different creature. Eli is seen in a picture taken for a newspaper article dated in the 1960's, looking the same age as he is in the movie. He does one better than the previous movies' preachers, as he spreads the evil that started in Gatlin all the way to Chicago. He starts off by turning almost all high school students into almost mindless drones, following the orders of He Who Walks Behind The Rows. He owns an elegantly decorated bible (which is really just a copy of Stephen King's Night Shaft with an altered cover, the book in which the original Children of the Corn story appeared) which he buried in Gatlin for his own safety. This is because him and his bible have a symbiotic relationship, the bible acting as his "other half". An example of the worm, a creature who can still survive if one segment of it's body is destroyed, is used in the film. His half brother Joshua, after finding the bible and realizing his adopted brother's true evil, ends up [...] him with this book. (like a worm, he had to destroy both sides: body & book). Unfortunately Eli reappears as a Yog Sothoth-like creature, [...] many of his escaping ex-cult members. He is again killed by Joshua and his love interest by severing the root of the creature's body, yet another clever reference to corn.
Josiah (Brandon Kleyla) Jociah was a wrongfully murdered preacher referenced in Children of the Corn IV: The Gathering. He possessed kids with a 1.05 fever to gather in the barn and bring him to life to get revenge on the town that killed him. The only way to defeat Josiah is to poison him with quicksilver ( mercury )and if they are not sucsessful of saving the children then Josiah is going to take their souls.
Ezekial ( Adam Wylie )
He is possesed by He Who Walks Behind The Rows by getting the flame in his body possessing kids to sacrifice in a burining corn silo and he was a better spread of evil being he was controlled by a man named Luke who is apparently controlling the kids. Children of the Corn V: Fields of Terror.
Abel ( Sean Smith )
Leader of a cult before Isaac whom when the adults found him, he forced himself and a bunch of other kids to burn themselves alive but one girl escapes and Abel controls the kids to get a revelation on Jamie and other people in an apartment to claim her grandmother and Abel is appeared to be the least shown preacher in the Children of the Corn series. Children of the Corn: Revelation.
