Charron (Musician)

Corey Charron, better known by his stage name Charron, is a Canadian rapper born and raised In Orleans, Ontario. He became interested in hip hop after he was shown an Eminem music video by his cousin. Through elementary and high school he was seen as the class clown by his peers. Charron started performing raps at the age of fourteen under the alias Triple C. Charron started performing for friends at parties and events at his school St. Peter Catholic High School. He eventually auditioned for Stars On The Rise and won second place overall. Charron was ranked first place out of over 100,000 members for Lets Beef battle rap league, winning over 230 battles. He then became the Rugged Culture freestyle champion, which lead him to his big break in King Of The Dot. Professional MusicAL comedian Bo Burnham personally posted Charron's work on his own fan page. He was extremely impressed and promised Charron a collaboration in the future.

King Of The Dot

King Of The Dot is Canada's largest battle rap league. The league is hosted by Canadian battle rap legend Organik. It's affiliated with World Star Hip Hop, Hip Hop Canada and Grindtime. Charron has had 4 battles in which he was victorious in all. He is highly acclaimed for his rebuttal ability, observational freestyles and improvisation. He has now been selected to compete in the Grand Prix Tournament. Where the 16 best handpicked emcees battle in an tournament to win a cash prize and a title shot. Charron's battle withSandman is the most discussed prove yourself battle in KOTD history. His battle with J Walker was judged by American rapper Dumbfoundead, in which he claimed he was very impressed by Charron's freestyle ability. Charron's battle with Syco was featured on the front page of hiphopcanada.com and personally posted by Bo Burnham. Charron's most recent battle was against Lokust in the Grand Prix. He won due to highly improvised rhymes and various spontaneous rebuttals. Charron vs Lokust was the most discussed music video in Canada the first day it was released on youtube. Charron advanced to round 2 in the Grand Prix, he will be facing Oz. Charron claims Kid Twist was his inspiration for battle rapping.

Music career

King Of The Dot opened many doors for Charron. He is now working with Canadian rapper Peter Jackson on his debut album. He has been featured on 88.1 Fm in Toronto discussing his KOTD Career. Has been interviewed and worked with Toronto company Bigmouths several times. The management for Canadian icon Drake noticed Charron on hiphopcanada.com and posted a comment on his battle. It's also been speculated the Charron's battles have caught the attention of Canadian rap legend Classified. Charron placed 5th in the poll "Hottest Canadian artists under 20." Charron is working hard on his album with Peter Jackson and planning a Canadian tour.
