Charlotte County Library System
The Charlotte County Library System in Charlotte County, Florida was founded on October 4, 1963 and aims to provide access to a wide range of materials, in a variety of formats in order to meet the information, education, and recreation needs of the public. They are currently composed of four locations serving residents throughout the Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda communities.

Library cards
A free library card can be obtained by Charlotte County residents. Children under the age of 16 must have a parent or legal guardian present to apply for a library card. Non-residents may obtain a visitor card for a fee.
Library support
The Charlotte County Public Library receives funding from Charlotte County's general revenue funds and from the Florida State Aid to Libraries grants. This funding does not quite cover the needs of the library, so additional funding comes form the Charlotte County Friends of the Library.
