Charles (Charlie) Stadtlander

Charles (Charlie) Stadtlander is a civil rights activist, philanthropist, teacher, and policy advocate who resides in Atlanta, GA. He is most well-known for his charitable activities and policy advocacy, specifically related to anti-bullying initiatives and education policy. He is rumored to be a descendent of the Stadtlander [...] Company family. Stadtlander's biography, as taken from his public website, contains the following:

''Stadtlander's professional and educational experiences include a variety of extensive opportunities in both the public and private sectors. He relocated to Georgia after joining the Teach for America Program, and currently teaches High School English in the Dekalb County School System. Stadtlander attended the University of Missouri and received degrees in Public Policy Administration and Political Science. Additionally he received an M.P.A. from Georgia State University’s Andrew Young School of Policy Studies in 2010. While attending the University of Missouri, Stadtlander worked as a high profile Consultant with AT&T and lobbyist in the Missouri Legislature. In combination with teaching in the public school system, Stadtlander focuses much of his post-graduate education and professional experiences toward extensive activities involving public budgeting, economics, zoning, education policy, and public administration.

Stadtlander has also completed numerous internships and fellowships, primarily within the public policy and administration industry including working as an intern to United States Senator Mary Landrieu, serving as the Assistant to the Chairman of the Missouri House of Representatives Judiciary Committee, an author of the Missouri Student Curator legislation, a student advocate for the University of Missouri within the Missouri Legislature, and most recently, completed a program with the Attorney General's Office of the District of Columbia as an Associate in the Health and Professional Regulations Division.

Additionally, Stadtlander founded a well-known equality foundation, chartered with the purpose of educating the public of tolerance for minorities as well as to provide educational scholarships to minority students. Throughout these endeavors, Stadtlander has raised nearly one million dollars for a variety of nonprofit organizations including the American Cancer Society, Doorways Housing, American Red Cross, Georgia Equality, YouthPride, numerous HIV/AIDS awareness organizations, Food Outreach, and the United Way.''

In 2009, Stadtlander challenged incumbant Atlanta School Board member, Cecily Harsch-Kinnane, for the District 3 seat, garnering a surprisingly high 46% of the votes cast. Stadtlander has authored and lobbied to passage several pieces of legislation, including the current Missouri Anti-Bullying statute.

His fundraising and charitable work is estimated to have raised in excess of one million dollars for a variety of non-profit organizations.
