CHAK89

CHAK89 is an Indian restaurant and banquet hall in Mitcham, London, founded in 2003 by West London Film Studios owner Frank Khalid.

History

In 2003 Frank Khalid invested in excess of £4 million in a banqueting and conference venue adjacent to the cash and carry depot called Elbrook C&C. CHAK89 opened in 2003 as a venue for 200 people. In 2005 it expanded to create a bigger hall to accommodate 450 people and a 70 seater Restaurant serving what has been referred to the "ultimate in Indian Cuisine". In 2006 the size of the restaurant was increased to seat 150 people.

The restaurant serves a variety of Punjabi, Pakistani, South Indian, Sri Lankan, Afro-Caribbean and Gujarati cuisines, although specialises in Punjabi dishes like Chicken Lababdah and Aloo Gobi, and some North Indian dishes as well.
