Chad L. Williams

Chad L. Williams is an American business executive and entrepreneur based in the Kansas City metropolitan area. He founded Quality Technology Services (QTS), a data center company.

Career

Williams entered the data center industry in 2003 and formally launched QTS in 2005. The company expanded through acquisitions and redevelopment of industrial properties into data centers in several U.S. markets.

In 2009, QTS received a $150 million investment from General Atlantic to support expansion of its data center infrastructure and managed services platform. On October 9, 2013, QTS Realty Trust completed its initial public offering on The New York STOCK Exchange, raising approximately $257 million and converting to a real estate investment trust (REIT).

Blackstone acquired QTS in August 2021 for $10 billion, taking the company private. In 2024, Williams was named one of Kansas City's Most Influential Business Leaders by Ingram's magazine. Williams remained CEO of QTS until April 18, 2025.

In October 2025, Williams launched QII, a separate operating business of Quality Growth Companies focused on energy and infrastructure.
