Brunsvold is often considered a key player in the growth of lan parties and e-sports in the Midwest United States, more specifically his home state of Iowa. He contributed and helped organize such events as the Twin Galaxies Video Game Festival, the Grassroots Gaming Expo and a yearly occurring event titled after his own organization MEG-CON. Brunsvold can be recognized as hosting some of the best LAN events some have ever attended in the US. Walter Day, founder of Twin Galaxies has been quoted saying "Brunsvold is a leader in the world wide gaming hobby." Midwest Electronic Gaming
Brunsvold is known for co-founding Midwest Electronic Gaming with his brother in-law Tony Williams in the late 2010. Disappointed with the quality and lack of established video game tournaments in the region, Chad and Tony decided to do something great with their extreme passion for competitive gaming and create a business. Since founding MEG, Chad and Tony traveled to many regional LAN oriented events meeting and building a core community of other organizations surrounded behind the same idea and vision behind their own, the mutual agreement that the Midwest lacks representation and attention though the eyes of the gaming world. MEG continues to actively pursue grabbing the attention of gamers in the Midwest, and also give them a home and place to compete for the recognition they deserve. “Focus on the gamers, focus on making it fun for the players,” is the mantra of the MEG team.
In May 2013 Brunsvold absorbed ownership of Midwest Electronic Gaming. Today Brunsvold continues to operate MEG with its original vision.
Heartland eSports Association
On July 2, 2013, Brunsvold took the mantel of CEO of the Heartland eSports Association when the previous CEO and founder Scott Barrett stepped down from the position.
