Centre for Asian Strategic Studies-India

The Centre for Asian Strategic Studies-India (CASS-India) investigates, analyses and researches data material pertaining to military, diplomacy, [...], anti-piracy, nuclear and Geo-strategic matter which India shares with Pakistan, Japan, ASEAN, Australia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bhutan, Myanmar, Afghanistan, Central Asian nations, Gulf countries and Africa, which are all the other nations that fall under the domiciliary of CASS. CASS-India is an independent think tank, registered trust based in New Delhi.

CASS-India has its field of research, analysis and investigation on-

  • Military security (strategy, armament, deployment and procurement)
  • Diplomacy (regional groupings, intra-region policies and politics)
  • Geo-economics (energy security and hi-tech trade)

Establishment

As the website suggests, CASS-India was setup in March 2002, and was funded with the assistance of custom project works, paid consultancy and official grants. As in June 2011, the think tank has organised and staged 40 domestic and 18 international conferences. Besides staging seminars and conferences, CASS-India is also playing an ACTIVE role in implementing special projects and researches for the Government of India, other reputed institutions, individuals, companies and NGOs.

Training

CASS-India is also involved in conducting a training program aptly named ITP-International Training Program under Advanced Strategic Studies Course annually exclusively for government officials, diplomats, DeFence personnel, NGOs, experts and defence industry officials, universities and students of Indian and foreign nationals.
