Cecilie Henriksen

Cecilie Henriksen, a 21 year old forward from Næstved, Denmark. In her early years she lived in the danish town of Vordingborg, but moved with her family to Brovst, which is situated in the northern part of Jutland. It was from here, she began her footballing-career in the danish top-flight club Fortuna Hjørring, in their youth-teams. In 2004 se was givin her debut in the best danish league - Elitedivisionen. She attended both Frederikshavn Gymnasium and Hjørring Gymnasium before graduating from the latter one in 2007. She was also a student at Nordjyllands Sportscollege in 2003/2004, as a part of her education at Frederikshavn Gymnasium.

She began her collegiate soccer career at Baylor University and continued it at Embry-Riddle University in Daytona Beach, Florida. She has played for both the Danish U19 and U21 national teams and has made 26 senior appearances scoring seven goals for Fortuna Hjørring, one of Denmark’s most successful Women’s teams

In the summer of 2008, she was a part of the roster at Ottawa Fury, where she managed to play a few games, despite being injured for a little time. In her first season for the Embry-Riddle Eagles she became runner-up on the Eagles team-scorebook with 17 points (5 goals, 7 assists), 12 points after winner, Swede Elina Johansson. But she became the one with most assists during the 2008-season and was one of only four to start in all 17 of the Eagles games.
