Carrier Enterprise Canada is a subsidiary of Carrier Corporation, a manufacturer of air conditioning products, heating systems and refrigeration equipment and related parts and supplies for commercial, industrial and residential markets in the HVAC/R industry in Canada.

History

The original Carrier brand was founded by Willis Carrier, considered the father of air conditioning, and named by Time magazine as one of the most influential persons of the 20th century.

In 2009, Watsco Inc. and Carrier formed Carrier Enterprises as a joint venture and added new products and brands. In 2011, distribution operations were added in the Northeast US and Mexico. In 2012, Watsco acquired Carrier’s HVAC distribution network in Canada in a joint venture under the name Carrier Enterprise Canada with Watsco owning 60% and UTC Climate, Controls and Security, 40%. Carrier Enterprise (CE) distributes the Carrier, Bryant, and Payne HVAC equipment, as well as a aftermarket parts, supplies, and accessories.

Carrier Enterprise Canada was established in 2012 as a joint venture of Watsco, Inc. and Carrier Corporation, which is a unit of UTC Climate, Controls & Security. The company has had a presence in Canada under other names since 1914. The company operated as Carrier Canada, owned wholly by UTC, from 1946 until 2012 when it became Carrier Enterprise Canada.

Products and brands

The company manufactures air conditioning, heating and refrigeration systems. Products include natural gas and oil furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, fancoils/coils, IAQ solutions, controls and thermostats, duct free systems, and geothermal systems.

Carrier introduced Toshiba-Carrier Inverter Ductless Split Systems to the North American market in 2010. With efficiencies up to 23 SEER, Toshiba-Carrier ductless split systems are intended for applications where traditional ducted-systems will not work.

The company also distributes Bryant products, which include gas furnaces, indoor air quality solutions, controls and thermostats, air conditioners, heat pumps, geothermal heat pumps, evaporator coils, fan coils, boilers, and oil furnaces.

Payne brand products, which include gas furnaces, fancoils, air conditioners, heat pumps and evaporator coils are distributed by the company’s WWG Totaline division, an HVAC-Refrigeration wholesaler with branches across Canada.

The company also provides commercial consultancy for commercial and industrial buildings. Recent projects include Toronto Airport, the ICAO building in Montreal and the University of Toronto

Carrier HVAC products and services for commercial building applications include air handlers, chillers, indoor self-contained and rooftop units.

Carrier Enterprise Canada, WWG Totaline and its platinum vendor partners provide refrigeration products including indoor / outdoor condensing units, a full line of custom freezers & coolers, evaporators, condensers, compressors, controls and accessories.

Carrier was the first manufacturer to use R-410A, also known as Puron, in their full line of air conditioning and heat pump systems.
