Caroline Grist

Caroline Grist is a British journalist and television producer, known for true crime and justice documentaries. She developed the cold case TV investigative series The Eleven, Children of the Snow, and The Clown and the Candyman, and the international returning true crime series Hours to Kill.

Career

Grist began her career in the UK as a journalist. She produced factual television shows for BBC and Channel 4.

She moved to the US to work on a TV venture by The New York Times and ITV Granada. She also worked for as a development producer on programs for A&E, Discovery and Cineflix.

Grist also developed a number of true crime TV and cold case investigations for television.

In 2020, she set up First Story, an independent TV production company with Charles Tremayne.

Personal life

Grist is married to television executive, Charles Tremayne.

She is a member of BAFTA New York. She and Tremayne funded a BAFTA scholarship for young filmmakers in memory of Grist's father, John F. Grist.
