Carmen Foster

Carmen McCollum Foster is a usability expert, Web strategist, former juvenile delinquent officer, high school teacher, and the 1976 winner of the Miss Texas title. Foster was named 2nd runner-up at Miss America in 1976.

Education

Foster attended Permian High School in Odessa, Texas until graduating from high school in 1975.

Foster began studying psychology at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas until graduating with her B.S. in psychology in 1979.

Family

Foster is married with three children (Rachel Foster, Lindsey Cotton, and Garrett Hoskins), two grandchildren and one on the way.

Professional Career

Foster originally started her career as a Development Coordinator for Human Resources at Abilene Christian University. She earned her teacher certification and began to teach high school classes at Abilene Christian School in Abilene, Texas. In 2001 she returned to Abilene Christian University as the webmaster for the university. In her nine-year career as webmaster to director of Web Communication she has published thousands of Web sites, actively participated in ReDeSign sessions, and lead the Web strategy for the university.
