Carlton Kirby
Carlton Kirby is a British born television commentator best known for commentating for Eurosport on cycling racing and Motorsport racing. In his early life he attended Tapton School in Sheffield. From here he went on to study journalism and became interested in commentating whilst he was studying. He, therefore, decided to apply, as a post graduate, to the BBC as a news and sports commentator and reporter. Following a two year secondment for the United Nations in the South Pacific, he joined ITV as TVam's overnight sports producer and reporter. In the 1990s he became a freelance commentator.
Best known for his work on Eurosport, his voice has also appeared on BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Motors TV, Cycling TV, Speed Channel USA, ABC Australia, SABC South Africa, Canal Plus France, Canal France International and more. He has one of the most adaptable voices on British Television, as can be seen from his working synopsis, Kirby's range is wide. As well as sport, his voiceover work includes corporate videos and feature films, as well as radio and television advertising.
