Carlos Córdova
Carlos B. Córdova (1949) is the author of The Salvadoran Americans, a book published by Greenwood Publishers in 2005.
He was born in San Salvador and migrated to San Francisco, California in 1965. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and a Master of Arts degree in anthropology and art at San Francisco State University. He also received a Doctorate of Education degree from the University of San Francisco. Dr. Córdova joined the faculty of the College of Ethnic Studies at San Francisco State University in 1974 and is currently a professor of Raza Studies.
Dr. Córdova has worked on a variety of research projects ranging from Shamanism among Guatemalan Mayan peoples and Santeria in Cuba to the migration patterns and adaptation dynamics of Central American immigrants in the U.S., a topic on which he has published numerous scholarly articles.
