Canvas Venture Fund
Canvas Venture Fund is a venture capital firm located on Sand Hill Road in Menlo Park in Silicon Valley. A spin-out of Morgenthaler Ventures. Canvas is an early-stage venture firm that closed an inaugural fund of $175M in August 2013.
Firm
Canvas was initially managed by Gary Little, Rebecca Lynn and Gary Morgenthaler, but now has expanded to include Paul Hsiao who joined the investment team in May 2014. The team uses a thesis-based approach to investing and specializes in financial services, enterprise SaaS, digital health, marketplaces, real estate, education, gaming, and machine learning.
The team continues to work with each of their Morgenthaler Ventures portfolio investments, which includes companies like Lending Club, Evernote, MuleSoft, Doximity, Practice Fusion, ADARA and NuoDB.
Investments
Canvas currently has investments in HealthLoop, Totango, FutureAdvisor, CrowdFlower, and Viewics.
They led the Series A round of financing for HealthLoop which closed at $10 million
They also led a Series B round of financing for Totango for Totango that raised $19.3 million.
In addition, Canvas recently led the Series B round of funding for FutureAdvisor, which raised $15.5 million.
Canvas led the Series C round of funding for CrowdFlower which raised $12.5 million. Crowdflower recently took home the Best-In-Show Award at Finovate as a crowd favorite
Canvas Venture Fund led the $8M Series A investment in their fifth portfolio company, Viewics
