Cantara Christopher
Cantara Christopher (born January 7, 1955 in Minneapolis, Minnesota) is an American memoirist and publisher. Christopher was born to Filipino parents. Her New York-based literary small press, 1 Cantarabooks, is home to authors Michael Matheny, Jason Shamai, the late Vicki Miller, and Stephen Gyllenhaal.
She has served as amanuensis to the film director Rouben Mamoulian and has worked on original productions of playwrights Sam Shepard, Michael McClure, Joseph Chaikin, and groundbreaking gay playwright, Robert Chesley. Her film work as an actress includes the movies of Gerard Damiano and several shorts in the Swedish Erotica series. Under the pen name 2 Simona Wing she writes feminist romances. She claims as her publishing mentor Barney Rosset, legendary original owner of the notorious 3 Blue Moon Books, as well as Grove Press and Evergreen Review.
