Campeonato Gaúcho de Futsal
The Campeonato Gaúcho de Futsal is a futsal competition in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, organized annually by the Federação Gaúcha de Futsal (FGFS), founded in 1956. The championship has been contested since 1957 by the state's top teams, having been played in only one division until 1994. From 1995 onwards, it received new names, with the first division being renamed "Série Ouro" (Gold Series), and the creation of the "Série Prata" (Silver Series), equivalent to the second division; and the "Série Bronze" (Bronze Series), equivalent to the third division.
Starting with the 2017 edition, the Série Ouro was replaced by the Liga Gaúcha de Futsal (LGF), with an organization independent of the Federação Gaúcha de Futsal (FGFS), while the Série Prata and Série Bronze continued to be governed by the FGF until 2018. In 2019, the three divisions organized by the FGFS were fully resumed, while the Liga Gaúcha de Futsal organizes the Gauchão de Futsal (another championship) independently.
