CHS student body is composed of children from 25 different countries. Special classes in Arabic language are offered to our international stream to promote intercultural understanding though developing better communication skills.

Our school is in its final phase of construction. We hope to have the theatre at full operations by the beginning of 2010. The summer campers enjoyed the use of the swimming pools, multipurpose hall and gymnasium. Things are looking big and beautiful in the sports complex

Facilities at CHS

The original school structure was completed for use in the year 2000. Since then, two full floors of classrooms were added in 2005.

In the past year stage three of our expansion was started. The new Hammad Complex includes a 350 seat theatre, 2 full swimming pools, a 1,000 square meter multi-purpose hall, a gymnasium that fits 2 complete basketball courts and a fitness center.

The total floor space is around 8,000 square meters. This will give the school much needed room for activities and administration.

Extracurricular activities

During the summer, a camp is offered for one full month with a sleep over on the final weekend. Children travel to places around the city and do activities at the school.

The day does not end at CHS when the dismissal bell rings! After regular school hours, there is a set of activities for grades 1 - 12 in which to get involved. Some of these activities include yoga, football, basketball, ping pong, ballet, piano, arts and crafts, gymnastics, karate and pottery.

On Sundays the older students get involved with the CAS program. They have done work in public speaking, jewelry making, newsletter, visiting social service centers, yearbook, first aid, team sports and writing.

Wintertime is a great time for a short two-week camp where students can keep physically fit with joining in group activities at school. For those students who can get away from the country, we offer trips to countries in the Middle East and Europe at sport camps, language camps and CAS camps. All activities are accompanied by teachers and other staff members at a ratio of 10 to 1.

During the school year each class goes on a trip around the city or country with homeroom teachers. Homeroom teachers and class members also have a chance to interact at special evenings of fun and food scheduled throughout the year. The school agenda has more information.

Throughout the year classes in swimming, French, painting, football, basketball and other activities in which students have expressed an interest are offered for a short period at an additional fee. Circulars are distributed and posted at the time of each course.
