Cady's Bar & Grill

Cady’s Bar & Grill is a restaurant situated in Ypsilanti's historic Depot Town. Cady’s has been a member of Ypsilanti’s Depot town for the past 15 years. Cady’s whole direction obtained influences from Frog Island, Riverside Park, and Depot Town. All these surrounding areas have the same mentality. They all encourage the family owned establishments and Cady’s is no exception .

History

Cady’s has a history in being part of Depot Town. Being less than 15 minutes away from Eastern Michigan University, a lot of their patrons are college students . The restaurant has a big influence in the Depot Town community. Most college students discover Cady’s during “Ypsifest.” Ypsifest is a festival where college students at Eastern Michigan University get to go explore Depot Town and eat for free at the local restaurants . Cady’s has no shame in supporting or promoting Eastern. At the front desk as soon as you walk in the restaurant, you see a schedule for the woman’s basketball team. On the front door they have a poster of the roster of the woman’s basketball team. Cady’s has had famous guest appearances over there last 15 years of being in business. In 2000 Bill Clinton stopped by for lunch after giving his commencement speech at Eastern Michigan University . After their 15 years of business Cady’s has closed their doors to reopen as a fun, upbeat barbecue restaurant .

Clinton Visit

The visit from Bill Clinton is a prime example of how most of Cady’s. Patrons are college students from Eastern Michigan University. Clinton gave his commencement speech at Eastern and took a short drive down the street to Cady’s .

Closing

Recently Cady’s closed its doors to the public due to the current economy of the surrounding area. Cady’s decided to close for 60-90 days. They want to remodel and change the whole atmosphere of the restaurant. Cady’s is going to change into a barbecue restaurant to appeal more to the younger crowd. They felt that they were too focused on the mature adult crowd when their cliental are mostly young college students .
