Bureau of Fire Protection Region VIII
The Bureau of Fire Protection Region III (Filipino: Kawanihan ng Pagtatanggol sa Sunog ng Ikawalong Rehiyon) is an agency of the Department Of Interior and Local Government (DILG) specifically under the Bureau of Fire Protection responsible for implementing national policies related to Firefighting and Protection as well as implementation of the Philippine Fire Code (PD 1185), which was repealed and replaced by the New Fire Code of the Philippines (RA 9514). Formerly known as the Constabulary Regional Fire Office 8, the BFP Region 8 is in charge of the administration and management of city fire and emergency services within the provinces of Samar and Leyte.
Organization
The BFP-R8 is divided into 37 Fire Districts covering the Islands of Leyte and Samar:
- Tacloban Fire District - Leyte
- Calbayog Fire District - Samar
- Catbalogan Fire District - Samar
- San Jorge Fire District - Samar
- Gandara Fire District - Samar
- Pagsanghan Fire District - Samar
- Santa Margarita Fire District - Samar
