Brant Rustich

Brant Rustich (born January 23 1985 in San Diego, California) is a right-handed baseball pitcher who was drafted by the New York Mets in the 2nd round, 93rd overall pick, in the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft. He was signed by the Mets on June 16 2007. In his first professional season, Rustich had a 3-0 record, with a 1.57 ERA in 23 innings with a 2/21 strikeout to walk ratio. Known for his 97mph fastball, and a power-slider, Rustich was recently ranked the 6th overall New York Mets prospect by Baseball America. Rustich was also noted for having the best fastball in the Mets minor league organization.
