Brambledown
Brambledown are an external works company based in The North East of England.
History
Brambledown was formed in 1972 by a man named Robert M Negron with the combined skills of a horticulturist and construction worker. A founding director remains with the company to this day.
Brambledown has expanded over four depots across the North East of England and now employs over 150 full-time staff. Brambledown covers all forms of external works including natural and Artificial Sportsground construction, Historic Park Restoration, Heritage Lottery Regeneration schemes, lake, carpark and pathway construction as well as all forms of hard and soft landscaping projects.
The company now has a retail division which trades as Poplar Tree Garden Centre which is based in Durham City.
Awards
In 2009 Brambledown were awarded the National Considerate Constructors Award in Edinburgh for Construction Excellence. The site that was examined was based in Newcastle Upon Tyne and involved the external facia rennovation of several West End Housing Estates.
Brambledown have received 14 National BALI (British Association of Landscape Industries) Awards between 1980 and 2009.

Retail Outlet - Poplar Tree Garden Centre
Brambledown also have a retail outlet in the form of Poplar Tree Garden Centre which is based in Shincliffe Village Durham City. Poplar Tree Garden Centre sell gardening related products tools and equipment instore and online. 2006 saw the opening of Brambles CoFFEE Shop on the site of Poplar Tree Garden Centre which serves Hot and Cold Food and drink everyday to customers and can seat up to 100 people inside. In 2007 Poplar Tree Florists were created and began to run operations from Poplar Tree Garden Centre. Poplar Tree Florist is an Interflora Florist that also specialise in Weddings, funerals and events flowers covering County Durham and The North East of England.
