History
The Bournemouth Electric Sports & Social Club was established in 1935 for employees of the Southern Electricity Board.
A football team was soon entered into the Bournemouth League, playing on their own premises at Broadway Lane. They soon progressed up through the divisions with further teams being added.
In 1975, the 'Sparkies' expanded further with the formation of a Sunday section. After climbing up through the ranks, the first team enjoyed a spell of dominance in the nineties and early millennium, which saw them win the Bournemouth Sunday League on numerous occasions. They also prospered in the cup competitions, winning both the Hampshire and Bournemouth Senior Cups. In 2006, they reached the last sixteen of the national FA Sunday Cup.
Meanwhile, the Saturday side remained a steady force within the Bournemouth League and were regularly amongst the silverware, before a decline in numbers forced the competition to sadly end in 2021. Like most of the remaining clubs, Electric then joined the Dorset League where they won the Division 1 title at the first attempt.
After twice finishing runners-up in the Senior Division, they joined the Dorset Premier League in 2024. Their debut campaign saw them finish in a respectable midtable position and reach the final of the Supplementary Cup, which they lost 2–4 to Cobham Sports.
