Boondi e-Magazine and Web Site come out as a collective effort of free lance Sri Lankan writers. Boondi sets a stage for discourses on politics, art & literature. Boondi started the web site www.boondi.lk on 05/05/2008. On the same day the book named "Akshara Senaga" was launched. This book contains number of poems, short stories and specially Visual Arts done by various free lance Sri Lankan writers who live not only in Sri Lanka but also in many countries all over the world.
Boondi e-magazine was distributed around the world via e-mail.At the beginning it was not much popular but after some improvements of the published articles and having the support and the dedication of famous writers in Sri Lanka , it became popular.
Boondi website and e-magazine work to introduce Sri Lankan writers who write mostly in Sinhala by publishing their work on the boondi web site by using Sinhala fonts in Unicode.
Today over 1000 of e-mail recipients are being participated as writers, readers and critics to improve this online e-magazine to prepare a better cultural and spiritual higher ground to Sri Lankan society.
