Boomer (Morning X)

Boomer is the pseudonym of a Savannah, Georgia area DJ on WFXH-FM (106.1 FM). He was born on May 20, 1977 in Northampton, Massachusetts.

Radio Career

Boomer started his career as an intern at K-Rock in New York. From there, Boomer got a job in Northampton, MA, at WHMP/WLZX. He then moved to Dayton, Ohio in 2002 to be the Afternoon Drive DJ and Music Director at WXEG. He started doing the Morning Drive in 2003 before being named Assistant Program Director in 2004.

In 2005, Boomer was nominated for Music Director of the Year. He was also voted as the Best Radio Personality by the Dayton Daily News.

Boomer became a father when he and his wife, Lauren, welcomed their son, Avi, into the world on November 22, 2006 at 8:55 AM.

Boomer was the first DJ in America to play the band Seether on the radio (back when he was the Afternoon Drive DJ at WXEG).

Features on Boomer's morning show include The Morning X Sports Report, The Morning X Reality Check and Boomer's Useless Fact of the Day and contests such as writing a Wikipedia entry for prizes.

On September 10, 2007, Boomer became the Program Director of WFXH-FM in Savannah, Georgia.

On his new afternoon show on WFXH, Boomer does "Getting Off At 5" where he plays requests, gives away prizes, and debuts new music (or plays something rad) at 5pm weekdays.
