BOCTOK-ZAPAD
BOCTOK-ZAPAD ( Vostok-Zapad 'EAST-WEST') is a popular Russian rock band, formed by immigrants from former USSR in Northern California in 2000.
History
The band was formed in 2000 in San Jose, California under the name "Angar" by Evgeni Duhovny, Nikolai Efimov, Andrei Povarov and Pavel Markin. With the departure of Evgeni Duhovny from the band in 2002, the name was changed to BOCTOK-ZAPAD.
Modern history
In the recent years BOCTOK-ZAPAD has been sharing the stage with Splean, Mumiy Troll, Bi-2, Lyapis Trubetskoy, Nochniye Snaiperi and others. Participant of the RockLab project from Nashe Radio
BOCTOK-ZAPAD has been a regular participant in Russian rock music festivals in the US, including Californian festivals Shtopor (Штопор) and Red Marines Festival. At these events, BOCTOK-ZAPAD has played with Red Elvises, MiruMir, Chervona, Estradasphere and others.
