Bobbi Adler
Bobbi Adler is a recurring character in the NBC sitcom Will & Grace. She lives in Schenectady, New York. Flamboyant and melodramatic, she spends most of her time rehearsing showtunes with her camp pianist, Julius. She is an actress and singer, and her roles usually including a reversal of gender -- for example, playing "Millie Loman" in Death of a Salesperson. She also starred in The Iceperson Cometh, The Music Person, and Queen Lear. Appearing on Will & Grace approximately once per season, Bobbi has an uneasy, but essentially loving, relationship with her daughter Grace (played by Debra Messing). Bobbi is married to Martin (Alan Arkin) and has two other daughters -- Joyce (Sara Rue), a binge eater, and Janet (Geena Davis), a screw-up.
Although aware of Will Truman's homosexuality, she has been known to hint that she would like to see Will and Grace's relationship blossom into something physical and stable, claiming it would "make [her] life so much easier."
One recurring theme is Bobbi's habit of "showing up" her own exasperated daughter, not only by merely proving her wrong, but also by performing a "told ya so" dance ... which Grace herself has been known to invoke from time to time when Situations warrant.
Bobbi is played by Debbie Reynolds, who is best known for her roles in the musicals Singin' in the Rain and The Unsinkable Molly Brown.
