Blodgett Hall, Oneonta, NY
Blodgett Hall is one of fourteen residence halls on the SUNY (State University of New York) Oneonta campus located in Oneonta,
New York. Built in 1968, Blodgett Hall is a "suite" style building, which contains three two-person bedrooms connected by a common
room. There are also a select number of "quads," rooms where four people reside, and doubles. Overall, about 200 people
reside in Blodgett, which includes the eight RAs (Residence Advisors), the ATM (Academic Team Member) and the RD
(Residence Hall Director).
Some of the amenities within Blodgett include: three lounges where students can do homework, a computer lab with 5 PCs, a
beautiful gym with weights and cardio equipment and a game room which includes a Foosball table, a pool table and a ping-pong table.
Each suite, quad and single contains it's own bathroom, a very enticing aspect of the hall. The mascot of the hall is
the Griffin, the legendary animal which is a mixture between a lion and an eagle. Blodgett is also in a prime location on the
extensive campus; it is next to one of the main dining halls, Wilsbach, it is very close to prime parking and is relatively close
to the academic buildings on campus.
Many people on campus have said Blodgett has a very respectable sense of community, established by the eight RAs, the ATM, the
RD, and the cooperation of the many residents. Blodgett hall exemplifies many of the core values that SUNY Oneonta prides itself
upon as an institution.
