Blake Moore (Utah businessman)
Blake David Moore (born June 22, 1980) is an American politician. A former businessman, foreign service officer, and American football quarterback, Moore is a member of the Republican Party, and announced his candidacy for seat in February 2020.
Early life
Born in Ogden, Utah, Moore graduated from Ogden High School where he was the winner of the , a high school scholarship granted to "outstanding scholar-athletes"..
Moore studied for a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science at the University of Utah, and later obtained a masters degree in Public Policy and Administration from Northwestern University.
Career
Moore began his career as a Foreign Service Officer for the US Department of State, and ran his own consulting business in Singapore.
After his time in Asia, Moore moved back to Utah where he joined Cicero Group, a Utah-based management consulting firm.
Congressional campaign
In February 2020, Moore announced his campaign for Utah’s 1st Congressional District seat, on a platform supporting Donald Trump's proposed tax reform measures, opposing abortion, and claiming to be "concerned about the lack of conservative leadership for the next generation of Americans".
